For Spiritborn, available leaderboard results are limited, with Pestilent Swarm Evade builds still representing the class's strongest visible option. While the build was dominant in Season 13, many players hope Blizzard introduces stronger alternatives to prevent the class from becoming overly dependent on Diablo 4 Gold a single playstyle.
Warlock's situation is even more uncertain. The class currently shows extremely low leaderboard participation, with top clears far below those of other classes. Most recorded runs appear to be using incomplete versions of Apocalypse-focused builds carried over from previous seasons rather than fully optimized Season 14 setups.
As a result, it's difficult to draw meaningful conclusions about Warlock's actual strength until more testing occurs.
Paladin Receives Promising Improvements
One of the most exciting developments from the PTR is the rise of Zeal-based Paladin builds.
During Season 13, Clash and Thorn Shield Throw dominated the class. While both remain competitive, recent buffs have allowed Zeal to emerge as a legitimate contender. Current leaderboard results show Zeal builds outperforming both Clash and Shield Throw variants.
The improvements come from several items and skill adjustments, including enhanced interactions with Mythic Unique gear. Many players had hoped for even larger buffs, but the early results suggest Zeal may finally have the power needed to compete with the class's established favorites.
Early Season 14 Meta Outlook
Based on current PTR leaderboard data, Barbarian appears to remain one of the strongest overall classes, while Necromancer minion builds and Hydra Sorcerers represent some of the most exciting new developments.
Rogue continues to offer exceptional flexibility, Druid has gained several powerful alternatives to Companion builds, and Paladin's Zeal archetype finally looks competitive. Meanwhile, Spiritborn and Warlock still require more testing before their true position in the meta becomes clear.
As always, PTR performance doesn't guarantee launch-day results, but Season 14 is already showing signs of delivering a healthier and more diverse build environment than previous seasons. For Diablo 4 players eager to Diablo 4 Items experiment with new playstyles, that's an encouraging sign indeed.
